Our first generation hardware wallets were made of military-grade aerospace aluminum. We’ve stripped all that down to just focus on air-gapping your private keys.

Our first generation hardware wallets were made of military-grade aerospace aluminum. We’ve stripped all that down to just focus on air-gapping your private keys.

Hey bitcoin! I'm Lixin, longtime bitcoiner and creator of Cobo Vault.
I come from a background in the electronic hardware industry, and experienced one of my products being featured in Apple Stores around the world. Back in 2018 Cobo CEO Discus Fish, who also co-founded F2Pool, invited me to help build Cobo’s hardware product line. As we had strong ties to miners in China, we naturally designed the 1st gen with them in mind. In China, mining farms are nearly always built in very isolated places where there is very cheap wind or water electricity. When we built our 1st generation Cobo Vault hardware wallet, we needed to maximize the durability of the device in addition to its security. We used aerospace aluminum rather than plastic and made it completely IP68 waterproof, IK9 drop resistant, and military standard MIL-STD-810G durable for the mining industry.
Things changed last year when I went to Bitcoin 2019 and talked to lots of hodlers in the States. I found that 95% of them don’t care about durability. I asked them if they were afraid of their home being flooded or burned down in a fire. The answer is - yes, they are afraid of these things, but see them as very low possibilities. Even if something were to happen, they said they would just buy another HW wallet for 100 dollars. From these conversations, it became more and more clear we should design a product around a normal hodler’s needs.
Our 2nd gen product compromises on durability but doesn’t compromise on security.
Most hodlers share some needs with miners:
  1. Hodlers want a more air-gapped solution so we kept QR code data transmission between your hardware wallet and the companion app which is also auditable.
  2. A Secure Element is the strongest wall of protection from physical attacks. We are the first hardware wallet - also maybe the first electronic product with SE - to have open source SE firmware.
  3. A battery can be a significant weak point. The 2nd gen continues the legacy of detachable batteries to prevent corrosion damage and will also support AAA batteries in case your battery dies someday.
  4. The 2nd gen also keeps the 4-inch touchscreen so you don’t need to suffer from tiny buttons and little screens anymore. Human error is one of the biggest reasons people lose their assets.
  5. We kept other features like the self-destruct mechanism and Web Authentication, which prevent side-channel and supply chain attacks.
If you'd like to read more about these features, check out our blog posts.
Aside from the legacy of the 1st gen, our 2nd gen product will have:
  1. Open source hardware wallet application layer and Secure Element firmware code. With the open source firmware code, you can see: random number generation, master private key generation, key derivation, and the signing process all happen within the SE and your private keys never leave.
  2. At the Bitcoin 2019 conference half the hodlers I met told me they own multiple hardware wallets which they use on the go. We added a fingerprint sensor you can use to authorize transactions without typing in your password. No need to worry about surveillance cameras when using your hardware wallet in airports.
  3. We will also support PSBT (BIP174) to be compatible with third-party wallets like Electrum or Wasabi Wallet in case people have need of using Cobo Vault with their own node or coinjoin. Multisig between Cobo Vault and other wallets will be realized to prevent single point failure with any brand of hardware wallet.
  4. By sacrificing the durability, we successfully controlled the price under 100 USD for the basic version.
  5. BTC-only firmware version for people who want to minimize the codebase for less of an attack surface.
We truly appreciate the support from the community and are giving away free metal storage Cobo Tablets with every purchase of our 2nd gen for a week! Add a tablet to your cart and place your order before May 5th, 8 AM PST to claim your free metal storage. Find us on Twitter CryptoLixin and CoboVault - any suggestions or questions are welcome!

Fastest and easiest way without a minimum purchase or high fees for customers to obtain NANO? (USA)

Hello Nano community,
Some of you may know me from /nanotrade or elsewhere, I generally am bullish on NANO and try to do my part to help spread adoption and awareness. I also run several e-commerce websites utilizing the open source Zen-Cart as my back end. Lately, and not so lately but in general, I have encountered issues with various payment processors (which actually led me to Nano in the first place, as well as a general interest in Cryptocurrency).
While there are solutions to dealing with the more stringent regulations enforced by payment processing companies, many of these require my customers to download third party apps or sign up for third party services. Not too dissimilar to how Paypal requests a user to be logged in before sending a payment in fact. Anyways, so while setting up my websites again today after losing another payment processor over the weekend, I have come to the decision, why not try and introduce my customer base to Nano and present it less so as a cryptocurrency, but more so as a digital decentralized payment solution? I have tried accepting cryptocurrencies before, however many of my customers, at least for my main e-commerce website are older and not so tech oriented. Just seeing that I accepted "Cryptocurrency" and "Bitcoin" as an option was enough to scare some of these people away. Ironically, I noticed more sales when I completely removed this payment option and all mentions of it from my website. Funny how that works.
Anyways, since I am in the middle of setting up additional payment methods, I figured now would be a good time to attempt the above with Nano, and offer a link on the "Pay with Nano" page during the check-out process for my customers to decide if they would like to try it out. My only concern, many of these people being older and technophobic, is that the process for obtaining the Nano they want to spend may be too much work and not something they would be interested in. Especially if it involves things like scanning IDs or providing more information than a simple credit or debit card number and a name. Ideally, this would be the only information they need to provide, with the ability to purchase any amount (most orders placed are between $25-$100), without paying an outrageous fee (which I will offer an incentive to cover for anyways I think). An instant transfer would also be a prerequisite. Something as fast as it takes to sign up for Cash App for example.
So, am I asking too much? Do such services exist yet in the US?
Quick rundown:
-Low fees
-No minimum or low minimum
-Non-invasive signup process
-No wait
Another thing worth mentioning, and hopefully this can provide the right people with an idea which I think could really help improve Nano adoption if implemented, was that I noticed some competitors of mine are accepting something called "PMC Coin", which is claimed to be a gold backed cryptocurrency. The gold bit is not important I do not think. What is impressive however, is that these vendors are able to provide this crypto as an option during the checkout process, and upon hitting submit, the customer is brought to the PMC Coin website, where they are presented with a form for purchasing this crypto. I have not tried going further than this, but the form contains all the required fields for a credit and debit purchase, as well as the price for the purchase being exactly what the price was for the requested items during the check-out on the forwarding website. It appears that upon purchase, the credit/debit card payment is sent to the PMC Coin sellers, and the PMC Coin in an equivalent amount is sent to the vendor. I assume the fees are offloaded onto the vendor at this point. While I have no interest in this asset in the slightest, I have to commend them on this solution, and I really hope we can see something like this emerge from the Nano community. It could be the killer app we have all been waiting for to spur adoption perhaps.
I will essentially be manually doing something like this for my customers, albeit with links and instructions, however as mentioned, the more streamlined the process is, the better. I am sure they will have an easy enough time with Natrium, and I am excited to introduce some new people into the space. But most of all I just want a simple ability to be able to keep my shop online without having to bow down to the banks and their petty requests as to what products should or should not be sold. None of us should have to deal with the Soup Nazi, be us merchants or consumers.
Thank you for your time and interest, and remember, stay bullish!
::edit::
Spreads I have found so-far:
CoinGate: 100 Nano = $114.76 vs. $97.44 USDT (Binance) [$17.32 fee] [$50 minimum] (Simplex)
Atomic Wallet: 100 Nano = $115 vs. $98.40 USDT (Binance) [$16.60 fee] [$50 minimum] (Simplex)
Crypto.com: Claims 3.5% fee, requires government photo ID, 2-3 day confirmation
Coinswitch.io: 100 Nano = $117 vs. $99.28 USDT (Binance) [$17.72 fee] [$63 minimum] (Simplex)
Coinify.com: 100 Nano = $119 vs. $114 USDT (Binance) [$5 fee] [$63 minimum] KYC is intensive but not too crazy. 2 Minute verification too. Definitely the best option so far. Only problem is the minimum purchase.
Going to try Binance.us next and the Brave browser, which I think uses Binance as a backend anyways.

Smartmining.cc Review: 2%-4% daily for 60-180 days with principal included

Smartmining.cc is a high yield investment project whose theme is for cloud mining. It provides long term deposit plans, and started on 03rd Jun 2020. You can earn 2%-4% daily for 60–180 days with principal included. Admin bought listing on my website yesterday, and my first withdrawal request was already received two hours ago. Now let me introduce it in details.
Started: 2020–06–03
My deposit: $200
The amount of 200 USD has been withdrawn from your account. Accounts: U3869878->U24795174. Memo: Shopping Cart Payment. . Date: 06:31 06.07.20. Batch: 322597842
Investment Plans
Minimal amount for deposit is: Bitcoin 0.001, Litecoin 0.1, Dogecoin 1000, Dash 0.05, Ethereum 0.01, Ethereum Classic 0.5, Bitcoin Cash 0.01, Zcash 0.05, Ripple 10, USD Cash 1, Tether 1 and Dollar 1. Your daily profit will be 2%-4% according to your deposit amount. The more GH/s you purchase, the higher level your account will reach. With each increase in the LEVEL account, your daily profit increase. What’s more, your daily profit increases by + 0.02% for each day without withdrawal, but I suggest you to withdraw profit every day until you get back 100% initial deposits. You can see details below:
(1) 0–999 GH/s, 2% daily profit
(2) 1000–2999 GH/s, 2.1% daily profit
(3) 3000–5999 GH/s, 2.2% daily profit
(4) 6000–9999 GH/s, 2.3% daily profit
(5) 10000–19999 GH/s, 2.4% daily profit
(6) 20000–29999 GH/s, 2.5% daily profit
(7) 30000–99999 GH/s, 2.6% daily profit
(8) 100000–199999 GH/s, 2.8% daily profit
(9) 200000–999999 GH/s, 3% daily profit
(10) 100000–2999999 GH/s, 3.5% daily profit
(11) 3000000 GH/s, 4% daily profit
Deposit works according to the selected contract, and the contract is from 60 to 180 days. You should deposit money into your balance first, and then buy Hash with the money on your balance. Your initial deposit is already in your daily profit, so principal will not be returned in the end.
For example, I buy GH/s with $200, and choose the 60 day contract. My daily profit will be 2.5% for 60 days. At the end of investment term, I will get back $300 totally($100 profit with $200 initial deposits).
But there is one things you should know that you must choose which ecurrency you want to mining, or we can say like this, which ecurrency you want your daily profit to be paid to. For example, if you want your daily profit to be paid through BTC, then you should turn off all other ecurrency mining process and only leave BTC mining. You can see the mining choice on the “Mining” page of their website.
Promotional Rewards(7%-2%)
For promoters, Smartmining.cc has developed a profitable partner program, which has two levels. First level is 7%, and second level is 2%. Unlike most HYIP projects, promoters can configure refback for your referrals on the page “Partners”. I already set 100% RCB for my direct active investors. Welcome to join under my team.
Payment Options
PerfectMoney, Payeer, Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum, BitcoinCash, Ripple, Dash, Zcash, Tether, Dogecoin and USD Cash.
Withdrawal Type
The request for withdrawal is processed within an hour but no more than 48 hours. Minimal amount for withdrawal is: Bitcoin 0.001, Litecoin 0.1, Dogecoin 1000, Dash 0.05, Ethereum 0.01, Ethereum Classic 0.5, Bitcoin Cash 0.01, Zcash 0.05, Ripple 10, USD Cash 1, Tether 1, Dollar 1

List of moderately difficult skribbl words for your new friend group (1200+ words)

That is to say that this list contains words that this list contains words that:
  1. Usually aren't instantly guess-able (like star, apple, or Nike).
  2. Can be played with a group of acquaintances (I play with a group of interns at work to blow off time)
Created this list by modifying an existing difficult word list we found online and adding a bunch of new words. If you see a stupid difficult word, it was probably a word from the existing difficult word list that I forgot to remove. (amicable and reimbursement were the type of bs I removed lol).

400 Watt Solar System for Shed

400 Watt Solar System for Shed
Literally my first Reddit post so please bear with me :)

I wanted to build an of grid solar system for me shed. I've built other systems before but this is the first time building one this big on my own. I'm not a professional electrician so please use this information at your own risk. Generally I try to over-engineer my electrical designs to make up for my incompetence. Some of the design choices may seem odd but have reasoning behind it that may not be apparent at first. A lot of the materials I used were already on hand and were either free or cheap. If you think I should have done things differently, I'd be happy hear from you but please be nice!

TLDR, Basic Specs...
(4) 100 Watt Renogy Monocrystalline Solar Panels
(6) 225AH 6V Lead Acid Golf Cart Batteries (series and parallel for 675AH 12V)
(20 ft) 2 AWG Copper Cables
(1) 1800 Watt DC/AC Inverter
(1) 60A MPPT Solar Charge Controller

I've built a mostly complete parts list here with Google Sheets. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ntLIxUjBPDQZN__vHUV0RzNPnzy4xBO7PRnIbkUv170/edit?usp=sharing

This is the circuit design I came up with, this should be simple enough to follow along with basic circuit design understanding. Again, I'm not a professional electrician.
Nifty circuit design
For the rest of this project overview, I figured it would be most logical to work from the top down.
I installed these brackets from Renogy. This was one of the most time consuming steps. I probably should have increased the pitch on these for optimal sunshine.
Positioning the (4) 100 watt solar panels.
I decided to run wires for each solar panel rather than wiring them in series. To save money, I bought the cheapest glands I could find, these did not come with screws or sealant. I ran 10 AWG wire through the glands and sealed the roof entry with black roofing caulk. Then applied the roofing caulk to the plastic body and screwed it down. I installed standard MC4 solar panel connectors, these are crimped and soldered.

I decided to have the glands positioned underneath the panels to provide optimal protection from the elements and a cleaner look. Having another set of MC4 connectors here also makes it easy to change panels or reconfigure my setup later on.
https://preview.redd.it/yfsnsqdv8jk41.jpg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0d38b842ca94495d81292756954bee6a05c50a3f
The wires from the roof drop in like this. I used simple cable tacks to secure them. I split the positive and negative wires to run along separate boards.
Working off of my initial circuit design, I worked up the placement of the components on the main power panel. Solar would come in on the top and the batteries would be connected to the bottom.
These busbars were some of the most expensive components but worked very nicely for my application.
I ran ground wires along the backside to ground the components and mounting bolts. These connect to the MPPT controller, inverter, and later on a grounding rod.
The main power panel is installed on the wall. The positive solar power leads run to a 35 Amp breaker before continuing to the 60 Amp MPPT charge controller.
MPPT up close.
At the base of this system are six 6 Volt lead acid batteries. I wired the batteries in series creating three 12 Volt battery banks and then wired them in parallel on the main power panel busbars.
I used 2 AWG copper wire and crimped on lugs for for the batteries and inverter leads.
System overview...
I can now easily power my iMac, power my soldering iron, charge my drill batteries, charge my lawn mower battery, and power my LED lighting.
Pretty!
Bonus!
If you ever wanted to know if I can mine bitcoins on this rig, the answer is not really. This lasted for about 12 minutes before low voltage shutoff on the inverter. The 2 AWG leads going to the inverter got warm!

Amazon Mechanical Turk [International*]

Mturk is a platform that allows clients to post a large number of jobs. It is a bit more professional than the typical /beermoney site. You work for "requesters" and they can approve or reject your submitted tasks, also known as HITs. You can earn a lot more money on this site than other typical /beermoney sites, but you need to pay attention to which jobs you accept. Not all HITs pay well. They do require some sensitive information from you for tax purposes. Not everyone gets approved to work here, and some people will be approved months or years after being rejected. — Payment Proof.
*This site is international, but most of the tasks are only available for the USA. International users can only redeem Amazon.com balance.

• Only do HITs that pay at least 10¢/minute. This gives you a rate of $6/hour. Mturk crowd forum and /hitsworthturkingfor are good places to check for higher paying HITs.
• It is better to return a HIT than to submit to if you are unsure whether the requester will approve it. Returning a HIT will not negatively affect you, but a rejection will.
Scripts are allowed and encouraged. Checked /mturk for more tips and suggestions.

Sites to Avoid: Definitely DO NOT post these.

Earnsanity — Shady owner, sketchy site. Held giveaway and then refunded the prizes after it was over. History of scamming many others. AVOID AT ALL COSTS UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE SCAMMED.
Paidverts — Shady owner, sketchy site. Keeps doing debt swaps (cash to BAP). Do not post.
Neobux — It isn’t really a scam, but they operate as a pyramid scheme. There’s money to be made online, but it’s definitely not there.
MarketGlory — It does pay out, but the pay is absolutely ridiculous. The only way to make a decent amount of money is to have a lot of referrals, and referral whoring on this subreddit WILL result in a permanent ban.
MindSumo — Not actually a /beermoney site. It’s only spam in this sub.
G2A — Scam/sells stolen keys.
Robinhood — This is spammed on our sub constantly.
Quickthoughts — Many reports of people being banned when trying to withdraw as of 10/2018. Do your due diligence before possibly wasting your time on this app.
Sites with $100+ minimum — These sites usually offer higher than normal payments for simple tasks, with a high minimum to cash out. They are always scams.
Generic news sites that pay you ridiculous amounts to read an article (two euros??) — Common sense should take care of this, but in case it doesn’t, it’s always a scam. The site is usually hosted somewhere in Eastern Europe, and you will never get paid.
Free bitcoin sites/"faucets" (THIS INCLUDES QOINPRO) — This is not referring to those video-viewing/task sites (although they’re still paying fragments of a penny). I’m talking about sites that give you 0.000001BTC to fill a captcha (freebitco.in, dailybitcoins). Admittedly many beermoney sites pay low, but don’t even bother with these.
Also: Bitcoin mining is NO LONGER PROFITABLE. If you're really so keen on getting bitcoins, doing so through an exchange is your best option.
Here are a few more scam sites and sketchy sites.

Please note that presence on this post does not imply that /beermoney or its moderators endorse the site or their views, actions, or policies. This list simply contains sites that are used by a large number of our users or are frequently mentioned on our subreddit.
We frequently monitor data from all the sites on this list from various sources to ensure that users are able and interested in utilizing them and if they do, that they also are getting paid promptly and fairly for all work they do. We make adjustments to this list and the order of sites accordingly based on all the data we receive.

Please make sure you follow the Rules of our subreddit and if you ever have any questions about anything beermoney related, please take a look at our extensive FAQ which should answer almost any question you might have.

We recommend the CoinPayments payment gateway to fund your Redeeem wallet because it is the fastest and the cheapest. Another alternative is BitPay, which is also a good solution but may take a bit longer. We do not charge a fee to transfer bitcoin into RGC credits and fund your escrow account.

1. Select bitcoin gateway

Add a Redeeem Gift Card for any amount to your cart and checkout using CoinPayments. Redeem Gift Cards are required to buy Amazon Gift Cards on the site.

How much faster is Stellar compared to other blockchains?

How much faster is Stellar compared to other blockchains?
If you’ve just started using XLMwallet and XLM in general, you might be shocked by the speed. After Bitcoin and Ethereum it’s like getting out of a horse-drawn cart and getting into a Boeing. But what makes Stellar so lightning-fast?
As you might now, the Bitcoin blockchain only processes about 7 transactions per second. Since you need quite a few confirmations for a transaction to go through, you’ll have to wait about an hour to get access to your money. Ethereum is a tad better: it processes 15–20 operations per second, so you’ll just need to wait a few minutes. But it’s still far too long compared to Visa and Mastercard, which have a speed of thousands tps.
Stellar is one of the very few blockchains that can compete with global payment systems. On standard equipment, it delivers about 1500 tps. For comparison: Visa processes about 2000 tps under normal conditions. When running on top-grade equipment, Stellar easily reaches 4000 tps. That’s incredibly fast for a blockchain.
Why can Stellar do what Bitcoin and Ethereum cannot? The answer is both very simple and very complex. In a few words, Stellar doesn’t rely on mining.
In both Bitcoin and Ethereum networks, miners add new blocks to the chain by solving cryptographic puzzles. All miners are working on the same puzzle at the same time. The puzzles are designed in such a way that finding a solution is hard, but once it’s found, it’s very easy to verify. Whoever is the first to solve the puzzle gets the block reward and adds a new block to the chain. This consensus protocol is known as Proof of Work.
Now, the number of confirmations is the number of blocks that were added to the chain after the block that contains a certain transactions. So for example, if your payment makes part of block number 100, and the required number of confirmations is 3, it means that your transaction will be fully processed and confirmed once block 103 is added to the blockchain. This is for security reasons: it reduces the risks of so-called double-spend attacks.
Unfortunately, it also slows the system down. If the average block time is 10 minutes (as it is on Bitcoin) and you need 3 confirmations (3 blocks), then you’re looking at half an hour at least. This mechanism makes the system safe, but it also prevents scaling.
The solution planned for Ethereum is to switch to Proof-of-Stake — another consensus protocol, without any puzzles. It can theoretically increase the processing speed to thousands of tps — but it’s still years away.
Stellar, however, is already there. It managed to get so far ahead because it went on a completely different path. There are no puzzles to solve, and no new lumens are generated. All of the hundred billion lumens were generated at once, in the very beginning. There is no mining at all. The consensus protocol is neither Proof of Stake nor Proof of Work. It’s called SCP (Stellar Consensus Protocol), and it’s based on something called a Federated Byzantine Agreement.
The SCP is not easy to explain, but in our next posts we’ll try to do that. For now, remember that when you use XLMwallet, you get access to the fastest and cheapest blockchain on the market — Stellar. See our site https://xlmwallet.co/ for more info.

Ytaopal Agent Review + Guide

Hey Guys,
after I shipped my last few Hauls via Ytaopal I think I can give a honest Opinion about Ytaopal and can give you some Tips about Ytaopal
If you are using Superbuy, you should check out hyperionfr `s Guide here. Its better and bigger than mine but he only talked about Superbuy as Agent, that inspired me about doing my own little Guide for yall.

Structure

  1. Basics (brought to you by hyperionfr)
  2. How to buy from Taobao, Tmall, Yupoo and more Sources via Ytaopal
  3. Shipping and Customs (+ my Experiences)
  4. My Experiences with Ytaopal (+ compared to Superbuy)

Basics

1. What is an Agent?

tl;dr: An Agent is a commercial Service which lets you buy Items off of Chinese Websites and deliveres them to you. An Agent also sends you Pictures of your Items before shipping and is talking to the Sellers for you. These Services take a small fee for their Service but this is in the most cases absolutely worth it so you should use them.

For new users coming to this sub daily it is hard to directly understand the point of an agent. Be honest, you did not do better in your first days/weeks. So instead of redirecting them to the searchbar just explain it to them in 2 sentences.
The main website we buy our reps from is taobao.com. It is like a amazon or eBay for China - solely for China. The problem that results is that we need a connection between your country and China. You cannot buy from TaoBao directly (for most of the countries) and you probably would not understand anything. So here comes the agent in hand. You browse through your favorite TaoBao shops and find some items you want to buy. Now you do not buy it through TaoBao but through your agent (in our case Ytaopal). Ytaopal now buys this exact item and lets it deliver to their warehouse. You ask for pictures, measurements, exchanges, returns etc. When everything is fine Ytaopal will package everything and deliver it to you. They are the connection between you and TaoBao.
(the longer Text was written by hyperionfr for his Guide)

2. Which agent to use?

As suggested by the Title of the Post, Im using Ytaopal. In my time into Fashionreps I used a few Agents like Superbuy, Basetao, CSSBuy and Ytaopal. None of them is bad but there are some differences in their offerings and prices. For first-time buyers I would suggest going with Superbuy, which is a bit more expensive then the other ones but is the most professional and the most easy to use. In addition, you can find more than enough Guides for buying via Superbuy on this Subreddit.

How to buy from Taobao, Tmall, Yupoo and more Sources via Ytaopal

1. Buying things on Chinese Websites

tl;dr Taobao/Tmall Tutorial:
  1. get a Link for what you want
  2. go to Ytaopal and paste your Link into the Searchbar
  3. Select type and sizing
  4. Click the "Add to Cart" Button
  5. Go into your Cart
  6. Click the Checkout Button
  7. Pay the Items

1.1 Signing Up

Just go to the top-right corner and select "Register". Just put in your email, username and password and you should be fine.

1.2 Finding Items

You can buy Items from many different Chinese Sites. You can find the officially Supported Sites on Ytaopals Homepage, altough its not listed there, you can order from Yupoo and Wechat too.
For finding the Items you want, just take a look into the Subreddit and check out some of the Hauls other Guys did. In most cases you can find a Review of the Item and a Link to the Seller. You can also click some recommended Links on Taobao or explore some sellers on Yupoo.
A big help while checking out Items on Taobao can be u/AColdFloor `s QCSuite Addon which can be found here. It displays the QC Pictures of other Users to you right on the Taobao site. With that, you can check how the Item looks in reality and can decide better.
For Translating Chinese I found Google Translator (for Websites) and Yandex Image OCR (for Pictures) the most useful. Most of the time you can get a Sense of what the Seller is trying to tell you.

1.3 Buying Items

If you found the Items you want, click at the Searchbar at the Homepage of Ytaopal and just Copy your Link into it. If its a Link from a officially Supported Site you can just Click the Options and you see a Picture of your Pick. The Price will also be automatically filled.
If you want to order from CNFashionBuy/CNFashionPub, scroll down at the Articles Site and click the Yupoo link. After you got the Yupoo Link just do the usual Ordering Process through Yupoo (below). When using the CN Sites, set the "Price" to that listed on the Site and set "Shipping" to 0.
If you want to order from Yupoo, paste the Link into the searchbar on the Homepage and the Ytaopal Site will be Blank. Now fill out the Blank Spaces, into "Title" just copy the Name of the Yupoo Album of your desired Item. Prices should be listed somewhere on Yupoo too. Now just fill in the Size you want into the "Comments" field.
If you want to order from WeChat, write an Email towards [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) telling them the WeChat Name and the Items you want, try to specify what you want as specific as possible.

1.4 Paying

Ytaopal uses a Balance System, that means you cant be overcharged and can only pay what you charged up before. All Refunds will be added to your Ytaopal Balance.
To charge up your balance just navigate to the Dashboard of your Ytaopal Account and click "recharge". For adding Money to your Account you can use Debit Cards, Bitcoin, Western Union, Bank Transfer, iDeal, Giropay, Polipayment, Trustpay, EPS, Mistercash, Mybank (France/Belgium/Italy and Luxembourg), Sofort, Safetypay and Multibanco. You can select the amount you want to charge up and the fees for it will be shown below.
If you want to pay with Paypal (which is pretty likely), just write an Email at the Support. They are gonna tell you the Paypal-adress and what you have to do. Paying with Paypal is fee-less and takes 24h at most. (the Support needs to add the Balance manually to your Account)

1.5 the Warehouse

After you ordered your Items, you can see them listed in your Warehouse after they arrive at Ytaopal. The Warehouse lists your Items and shows the Order-Number, Price and Weight.
When your Items are listed in the Warehouse, you can click on "QC Album" (on the Dashboard) or "My QC Pictures" (at the Sidebar) to see the Pictures your Agent took of your Pieces. In my opinion, those pictures are far superior to the QC Pics of Superbuy. (more to my Experiences down below)
Ytaopal Warehouse + QC Pics Imgur Album

2. Getting your Items shipped to you

tl;dr Tutorial:
  1. go to your Warehouse
  2. select the Items you want to ship
  3. click the "Add to package" Button
  4. Fill in your Adress and your favourite shipping method
  5. Pay for your Package
To get your fresh new clothes shipped to you, just go to your Warehouse and tick the Boxes besides the Items you want to ship then click "add new Package" and you will be taken towards the Checkout Screen. There you select your Shipping Adress, Shipping Service (DHL GANG GANG) and Select if you wanted to keep Boxes or throw them away. You should throw them away if you dont need them, that saves you a lot of money and can be benefical with the customs. Underneath you can input some Comments that you want to tell Ytaopal, unless like other Agents Ytaopal will not write those Comments on your Parcel.
Ytaopal shipping Screenshot Imgur

2.1 Declaration

tl;dr Tutorial:
  1. Check the total weight of your Parcel
  2. Check the Customs Regulations about Parcels for your Country
  3. Pick the Price you want to declare your Haul at
  4. Submit your Parcel
  5. Write an Email to the Support including your Parcel-Number and tell them how you want to declare your Items.
  6. Ask the Support to send you the Invoice they put on your Parcel
My Tip for you is to let the Comment Section blank and write an Email to the Support after you submitted your Parcel. When you write an Email you can tell them exactly how you want to declare it. If you dont tell them anything they will declare it at original Pricing so you should at least do it in the Comments if you dont want to write that Email. Also, if you dont tell them anything about the Items inside, they will just put the real Items on the Box (e.g. if you bought 3 Hoodies and 1 Shirt, it will just be declared at 3 Hoodies and 1 Shirt but fitting to the Price you want). If you just say they should declare it to 30$ for example they are gonna fit your Items to 30$ with free Shipping. Depending on your Country, you should probably set it to ~5$ Shipping or how you want. Remember to ask them to send you the Invoice they put on the Parcel.
You will not receive a shipping Refund with Ytaopal, but the Pricing is a good bit cheaper than Superbuys. You can calculate shipping Prices via the Calculator found on their Homepage, remember that this is only accurate with EMS as DHL goes for volumetric weight which you cannot be calculated.

2.2 What happens when the Customs Check my Haul

First Advice, calm down. It is very unlikely that Customs open up your Haul randomly. If you are in a Country of the European Union, Customs cannot open your Parcel without you accepting to open it if its not looking Suspicious.

If you are using DHL, just check the Tracking Site to see your Parcelstatus."Customs status updated" - Your Parcel has been announced to Customs or you need to hand-in a Proof of Worth for your Items. You can see this when clicking on the "+ Button" on the tracking Site.
" Processed for clearance at LEIPZIG - GERMANY " - The Customs started working on your Parcel, nothing bad.
" Clearance event " - Your Parcel is stuck or delayed, most of the time you are fine. If its on this Status for a longer Period of time, call DHL."Clearance processing complete at LEIPZIG - GERMANY " - Your Parcel got through Customs without Problems!
How to do the Proof of Worth:
Obviously, you dont want to pay Taxes so you need to fake the Invoice. The Invoice that Ytaopal sent you is not going to be accepted as such Invoices can easily be faked. So what do you send the Customs then?
Just go to your Paypal recent activities and pick a Payment. Click F12 and edit the Date of the Transaction (to the Date your Parcel was Packed), the Worth (to your declared Value). Just take a Screenshot of your edited Transaction and upload it to DHL4You. You may need to call them and tell them you uploaded it afterwards.
Sometimes they want the Proof of Worth for every single Item, just go to your Parcel on Ytaopal and F12 again. Change the Values of the Items to match the total worth of your Parcel and just send them this Screenshot too.

There are probably Guides for declaration for your specific Countries on the Subreddit, just search them.

3. My Experiences with Ytaopal (+ compared to Superbuy)

In my Experience, Ytaopals Customer Support is the best I ever encountered. Big thanks to Alice and Shmily for helping me out with my Questions and Orders. As you can see in the Pics, I spammed them a little bit and they were very kind and never Rude. Remember Bois, always be nice to your Agent and Sellers, they are getting your Shit for you.
The Emails I wrote to Ytaopal Imgur
Here is a quick comparison between the 2 Agentservices:
Ytaopal Superbuy
- better QC Pics - definetly worse QC pics
- more Personal, worse Website - more automated, better Website
- uses their own Mind instead of just doing what you said - does strictly what you said
- only Beijing-Time Support - 24/7 Support
- fewer Workers, slower when there are more Parcels - more Workers

As seen in the Table, Ytaopal is an Agent which requires you to Contact them a lot to manage your Shipments and Orders. That may be a bit complicated for newcommers, but gives experienced shoppers a lot more "customization".

If you got any more Questions or anything, just write a Comment or send me Message, im glad to help.

My [34 M] mother-in-law [57 F] discovered we have a significant amount of money and told the rest of the family, now we are being pressured for handouts by everyone.

We could really use some advice on how to handle an uncomfortable situation we have found ourselves in. At the end of last year my mother-in-law stayed with us for several weeks and while she isn’t completely unpleasant to be around she is the kind of person who likes to involve herself in other people’s business whether they like it or not. One day while my wife and I were at work she decided to “help out” by cleaning up our study and sorting out our paperwork without asking. It was while doing this without our knowledge that she found out we had recently paid out our mortgage in one go and our bank statements with a six-figure amounts on them.
Needless to say she was surprised and put-out that her daughter had never told her about this. Even though she was the one who breached our privacy we felt on the defensive and explained to her that this was a windfall from Bitcoin mining and other investments I had made several years ago and had decided together not to let this sudden wealth immediately change our lifestyle or work situations. Even without the extra money we were living fairly comfortably but had long-term plans to invest and grow it to retire early rather than live it up in the present. We explained it wasn’t just her we hadn’t told but everyone so it wasn’t like she was being singled out.
The remainder of her stay was fairly uneventful and the matter wasn’t discussed further at the time. It wasn’t until a month later that she contacted my wife about urgently needing a replacement CPAP (sleep breathing mask) machine. We knew she actually needed it so couldn’t really refuse the request and $1500 later she had the one she wanted. But it didn’t end there. A few weeks later she “urgently” needed a set of replacement tyres for her car and again we couldn’t really refuse. And so on, a bill here, a shopping cart there but it was keeping the peace and they were only for minor “essential” purchases so we just let it go as an occasional expense.
Fast-forward to a month ago, my wife’s brother who rarely ever speaks to us contacts us out of the blue asking for a “loan” to cover his overdue rent. When we told him we didn’t have the money right now (a white lie) he became indignant, accusing us of “holding out” on the family and how he knew we had a lot of money and we should be paying it forward. We held our ground but the whole situation has left a bad taste in our mouths. Since then it has become obvious that word has spread around the extended family that we have money with two other members independently approaching us for financial help. We did agree to help one of them as there was a genuine case there but this has only caused further friction with the others who are making us feel guilty for not supporting them as well.
The fact is that her siblings have a history of not being financially responsible and we are worried about where this is headed. We are seriously considering gifting each of her sibling’s families with $10K for Christmas in addition to establishing a $2K trust fund for each niece and nephew which we will keep contributing to each year on their respective birthdays. The hope is that the $10K will shut everyone up once and for all and avoid further accusations of favouritism, and the ongoing trust fund contributions will both benefit the kids and give us a way to knock back future handout requests while being able to say we are still doing something to support them.
If anyone has a better idea for how to handle this awkward situation I’d love to hear it. I don’t want the fact we have money to be the cause of a rift in the family, but at the same time I don’t want us to be taken advantage of or relied upon as a regular easy handout for everyone. I just really want to have a clear idea of how to move forward here.
tl;dr: Family found out we have a lot of money we didn’t tell them about and are expecting us to give them easy handouts now.

[How to] Legally buy music from mora.jp outside of Japan with little fees

Hello jpop !
Are you tired of getting cucked by mora.jp's IP and billing address checks? Look no further! All you gotta do is follow some workarounds and you'll be downloading your beloved mora in no time.
Please use Chrome as your browser as it has a built in translate button when you right click a foreign page. Other browsers may or may not have this, and it helps A LOT to those who don't understand Japanese
Step 1: Buy a Bitcash code online
I personally suggest offgamers as they're the cheapest and they accept any debit/credit cards, PayPal, Bitcoin, and a lot more options. If you find a retailer that provides it for cheaper, let me know in the comments.
For a 1000Y card, you are paying $10.71 USD + processing fees. PayPal and debit/credit have around a 50 cent free, but Bitcoin is around 10 cents (this is not the mining fee).
Don't know how to get Bitcoin? For those in the United States, I personally use Cash app for the convenience and I don't mind the ~$50-$100/BTC markup rate. They allow me to buy Bitcoin with my bank account and debit card instantly after verifying with their support (took me less than a day). To those with access to exchanges, just use that. Mining fees are about 5-10 cents depending on how fast you want the transaction to confirm.
Why use Bitcoin when there's Paypal and debit/credit card?
BTC is anonymous and Offgamers requires 6 confirmations for BTC transactions to send out your code instantly which can be quick depending on the fee used for the transaction. Offgamers may need to verify your information if you used debit/credit/PayPal before they send your code out. Their support team is also questionable at some times as they outsource.
This code is in Hiragana: if you don't understand hiragana, ask a friend or try using google translate handwrite tool (this works 90% of the time because some characters can be similar but are wrong). e.g. After I used the translate tool and site said wrong code; my friend corrected me. His quote below.
The 2nd character after the first dash was the small form in yours ... Cause that character means different stuff if its big or small
Step 2: Getting a VPN
You will need to get a Japanese IP that can bypass mora.jp's IP check. A free and easy VPN I use is ZenVPN. It says free trial, but once your trial is up you can keep getting free trials by using different emails. Other paid, non-logging options include NordVPN or ExpressVPN. Do not turn off your VPN until you are completely done downloading your music
Step 3: Buying your mora and downloading it
After setting up your VPN and checking if your new VPN IP is genuinely from Japan, you are now ready to purchase music.
Add your desired music to cart and create an account to check out. There is a "change payment option" which you change to Bitcash and you then put in your 16 character hiragana code without the dashes. Payment should be deducted from the balance on the code (they give you a link at checkout to check the balance too).
It should then redirect you to their mora downloader page. Simply install and run, you shouldn't need a translator to do this imo. Your newly purchased music should pop up and all you have to do is press the download arrow. Downloaded music is defaulted to C:\Users\x\Music\mora
All in all, I paid ~$11 for a 1000Y Bitcash code and this method worked flawlessly for me. I hope it does for you too. Happy listening!

Addiction

Illinois legalized weed yesterday by way of our state legislature, as opposed to a voter-approved ballot measure. We're the first state to legalize weed this way. The new law goes on the books 1/1/2020.
There are some real pluses to this thing, including clearing the records of people who got busted for 30 grams or less. Anyone who got tagged for between 30-500 grams can petition the courts for expungement. This could involve as many as 750,000 cases.
Communities hit hardest by prohibition can cut the line on the licensing process as "social equity applicants" as well as benefit from $30million put into a low-interest loan program for those same communities to launch start up weed shops. (This will boil the blood of people who consider the black community to be a "victim constituency" ...which makes me like it even more.)
Per Marijuana Moment Taxes on cannabis sales would be based in part on THC concentration. Flower containing up to 35 percent THC would be taxed at 10 percent, whereas products with more than 35 percent THC would be taxed at 25 percent. Cannabis-infused products would be subject to a 20 percent tax. The state’s 6.25 percent sales tax would also apply, with local jurisdictions having the option to impose an additional 3.5 percent tax.
I've never had flower with more than 35% THC, nor do I expect to. I think 30% is the highest level I've ever tried. It was plenty.
Pritzker's budget includes expected revenue from weed taxes, with some studies saying it could bring in as much as $500million in 2020.
My state rep is a guy named Marty Moylan. He's a Democrat from Des Plaines. For those of you from out of state Des Plaines is pronounced Dess Planes, which I'm sure pleases Luis Jolliet & Jacques Marquette to no end. Marty voted against legalizing weed, saying it's addictive and destructive. So fuck Marty Moylan.
In related news, Marty has a fucking casino in his town and I'll be very interested to see how Marty votes on legalized sports betting today, or maybe tomorrow. They're working Sunday, because the next legislative get-together is in October.
I'm against legalized sports betting. It's actually addictive, unlike weed, and it truly has destroyed countless lives, unlike weed. Unless you count weed prohibition, and the lives it fucked up.
Back in the day I had the pleasure of working with a large number of degenerate gamblers. The limo company I drove for was owned by a dickhead named George Jacobs. George was (maybe still is) the head of the Illinois Chapter of Gamblers Anonymous. George recruited limo drivers at the GA meetings. Of the 250-300 drivers he employed I'd guess that no fewer than 40% were people who came from Gamblers Anonymous, including Vyto Spakauskus, a member of my golf foursome for about 10 years.
One day at a local track named Cog Hill, our regular course, we were on the 7th hole when Vyto announced he had to leave. He called up to the pro shop and asked them to send out a cart to pick him up. Told us he had an emergency and he would explain later. About 5 holes later, the Cog Hill people shuttled Vyto back out to us and he finished the round. We finally got him to tell us what the fuck was wrong. He had forgotten to buy the daily $30 in Lotto tickets for himself & his 80 year old mother and tonight was the big roll-over, monster, gajillion dollar blah blah blah.
I simmered with fucking anger for the last 5 holes. When we got to the 19th hole and ordered a pitcher of beer I explained to Vyto that he was out of the group. As I explained to him...I love you buddy, but you're a 49 year old man who lives with his mother. You're a degenerate gambler to begin with, but even worse than that you're a degenerate gambler who gambles on possibly the dumbest game ever invented. You spend almost a grand a month on the stupid fucking Lotto despite the fact that you're in debt up to your fucking eyeballs. And that's your problem, not mine. You want to flush your money down the toilet, by all means go right ahead. But here's the thing Vyto...you borrowed money from me to pay for your fucking golf, and then you walked out in the middle of the round. So fuck you. Get help.
I was a former limo driver by that point so the only time I ever saw Vyto was at Cog Hill on Fridays, so it came as no surprise that was the last thing I ever said to Vyto. Never spoke to each other again. I got a call recently from another member of the old foursome. Mark lives in Vegas now. Just called to shoot the shit, and in the process he asks me if I heard about Vyto. I said something like "No, but is this about Bitcoin?" Turns out Vyto's mom died, left him the house, and something like six months later he had pissed away the house playing the poker machines at a casino in Aurora. The whole house. Supposedly something like $140,000. Took out a reverse mortgage and blew it all gambling on possibly the second dumbest form of gambling ever invented.
Don't know exactly why I'm so adamantly opposed to gambling, but I am, and especially sports betting. It's the only vice I can think of that riles up the puritan in me. I'm a huge sports fan, and I can only see bad shit happening when gambling and pro sports start inter-mingling. Players and referees are human beings. Some can be bought for the right price. There's a reason the Black Sox were all permanently banned from baseball. Pete Rose same. Whether it's Tim Donaghy fucking around with the spread in NBA games, Northwestern running back Dennis Lundy shaving points, or the Boston College basketball team doing same the lines get blurred. One doesn't have to "throw a game" to see how gambling can fuck up the integrity of a contest. Those cases all came when gambling was illegal. Imagine what it will be like now.
If we're going to talk about destructive addictions I can say with certainty that gambling is one of them. I suppose it goes back to all my interaction with twelve-stepping chauffeurs. I mean sure, if somebody wants to fuck up their life that's their business but don't fuck up my golf game.

Taking a huge risk while young with no kids. If it fails, FIRE target through traditional work in 6-8 years. If it works, FIRE before 30. Anyone else with a similar story, like starting a business or something?

Hey ladies and gents, they say goals are best acomplished if you tell others, so here is my story, and my plan. This is going to be a wildly unpopular opinion, but rest assured I researched my decisions carefully, have the traditional FIRE plan in place should my gamble fail, and it will not impact any children. The FIRE plan is pretty general, so I'll spare you the details. Ill be saving my usual 60% of each paycheck, and I'll keep enjoying inexpensive hobbies, like mountain biking, hiking, and camping. The question is, how to invest the savings for the best return? The method I decided on will seem very controvertial, so let me be clear, I know it may not work. Actually, it likely will not work the way I plan out. But the possible benefits are an extra 10 years of life without waking up to an alarm clock.
Background
I am young, as in 25. I am a family medicine intern. My wife is 24, a resident optometrist. We both grew up almost poor. Like, "always had a roof, but in a cramped house; always got a few christmas presents, but had parents that could barely get to the next paycheck, and sometimes racked up credit card debt to do so" kind of poor. We also graduated from high school into the teeth of the Great Recession. Between that and our combined 15 years of college/professional school, we are experts at surviving off nothing and delaying purchases until we absolutely need them. We do not want kids, so we do not have to be as financially secure as a normal family. We are doing well now, with combined incomes of $5000 and $2000 per month for myself and my wife, respectively. This is more money flowing in than we have ever had. And we are so frugal, we usually only spend 30-40% of each paycheck.
*Plus, I was a vandweller for a while, so I know have a Plan C as well*
So, since we are so young, and yet toughened, we can take risks now and still have a decent length working life to make up for the likely failure of those risks. However, should the risk pay off, we could possibly FatFIRE within 1-2 years. I'd say the chance of that success is... maybe 1 in 3. It was good enough for Sean Connery and the Red October. And to have some time in our 20s back from the hellhole that is professional education... oh my god so worth the risk.
So, in the hopes that people will recognize we did not make this decision lightly, and we are simply trying to go out of the box, even the normal FIRE box, to attain freedom. Here is our story, and here is our plan.
Learning how to invest
Back in 2016, I had read some of the MMM blogs, and a few thousand dollars saved up. I was looking for anything that had decent returns, and a friend showed me how the Dow had tanked on news about China, and how he wished he had cash when the price was lower. At the time, I questioned the wisdom of buying when the market was going down. He looked at me, smiled, and told me it was just on sale.
So I got a Wealthfront account and put a few hundred in at 90% stocks. The market recovered within months and I had a pretty good return. I then took some funds out. I tried timing things using the "FeaGreed Index" and Warren Buffets "be greedy when others are fearful" advice. I wasn't a day trader, more of a week trader. Then the stock market went down a little, and I bought more. I was just super lucky, but I thought I had a good stomach for risk at that point.
Finding... (Dare I say it...) cryptocurrencies
Here I may lose some of you, if you hate the idea of cryptocurrencys, and I respect your opinion. They are almost all speculation at this point, so I don't blame you.
Anyway, I went looking for other, more volatile markets to apply Buffets advice after stocks flattened out in 2016. My sister's boyfriend told me he played with cryptocurrencies. So, I took some money off Wealthfront and I dabbled a bit on Gemini with Bitcoin ($600 at the time) and Ethereum ($12 at the time). I did my best to sell high, and buy in when FUD went around. I had put in maybe 1/2 of all my savings at that point. In total, my savings was only $15k then, but that was literally my life savings. Most was in Ethereum since it was cheaper. I started researching Bitcoin and Ethereum, and I liked Eth better.
Naturally, Ethereum took a 30% dump to $9, and I realized that "volatile" meant down as well as up. Feeling a little stung, I pulled most of my remaining funds from Ethereum to even out my stock gains to avoid capital gains tax headaches (since I had no idea how any of that worked back then either.)
Equally naturally, Ethereum then went off the rails to $40 before I could get my cash back in. The FOMO was strong, and I'm still kicking myself for missing that huge first leap. Luckily, it went from $40 to $400 in the span of a year. I had gone from $15k to $150k. I was in vapor lock for most of 2017 over this. I had never built up so much, so fast, and especially as it went higher in Autumn. At that point, I decided to pull from Ethereum and diversify in the cryptos, thinking the other shoe must be about to drop.
XRP and the New Years 2018 Ripple Pump
My sister's boyfriend again gave me some advice. He casually mentioned Ripple might be picked up by some big companies. My first thought was, "What the heck is a Ripple?" So I did some digging, and managed to get on the Kraken exchange, and glitched my way to a few hundred thousand XRP, while saving some of my precious Ethereum. Then XRP had that massive speculative pump, and I suddenly had over a 7-figure net worth within weeks. I was giddy. Then the market slumped. No big deal, I told myself. Then XRP took an 80% dump. *80. FREAKING. PERCENT.*
I lost over $800,000 on paper from the high. I consoled myself on still having a mid 6-figure net worth, even to this day, but that didn't help much. As to why I did not withdraw at the peak, it was because I was simply astonished, a bit greedy, and I had no idea how such massive capital gains would impact my taxes, since they would be short term gains. At the time, I remember deciding not to decide and just roll with it. I knew I was young enough to deal with the volatility. So Im still holding on, even as the cryptocurrency market stumbles along.
The Gamble
Thank you for reading along this far. Before going any further, allow me to clarify that I don't want to sound like a gambler who can make his losses back with "just one more good hand..." which this will certainly sound like. My calculated risk is this: We will pour every extra cent that we can into XRP until we are 30 or have $6-8 million, whichever comes first. We would never do any leverage trades, as buying on margin is as stupid as essentially burning money in such volatile markets. If XRP has not taken off by the time we are 30, we will re-evaluate it against other cryptos with use-cases or stocks. Meanwhile, we will remain as frugal as we have always been, and continue to save at least 60% of each paycheck. The idea is this: plenty of people discover the FIRE movement in their 30s, after having terrible financial habits and no savings. If those people can FIRE in a few years, we would be able to do so as well if the Crypto market collapses. Its been around since 2009, so I bet it will be around at least another decade.
The reasoning
There is a finance quote that goes something like, "diversification protects, concentration grows," and right now we need our funds to grow, quickly, to reach FIRE. I have researched Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, and XRP. I chose XRP because it serves a very useful purpose already. Ethereum does as well, but currently mostly in theory. I agree with MMM on Bitcoin, in that it is a "greater fool" game. Bitcoin is also the first. So was MySpace.
Anyway, XRP could easily become highly prized by banks for global money transfers, and in providing an actual service, behaves more as a "natural resource" than a security. And it is wise to buy natural resources before the demand grows for it. Imagine buying land in West Texas before the automobile was invented.
Also, while I hate to depend on speculation, rampant speculation made me a momentary-millionaire on paper over the course of weeks earlier this year. Even if having a good use-case isn't enough, I bet the speculators will return to the cryptosphere within the next year because it could be very useful. Call that my "Hail-Mary."
Discussion on Ripple and XRP, and why most people hate it. Skip if you don't want the technical talk
So there are currently a lot of risks. XRP could be ruled a security of the Ripple Company, and it would not be listed on certain exchanges. XRP could be abandoned by Ripple. XRP could grow more slowly than Ethereum, Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, or the myriad of other cryptocurrencies like EOS, Litecoin, or Cardano. Additionally, XRP uses a Ledger protocol, which is different from the Proof of Work "mining" required for Bitcoin or Ethereum. So it may technically not actually be a real cryptocurrency in the traditional sense. This makes it understandable why so many people do not like it, since they don't understand it compared to what they're used to. That doesn't mean it can't have value.
I have an answer to those concerns listed above. Ripple is doing its best to conform to SEC rules, and wants to be regulated as a currency. XRP likely won't be ruled a security, even though Ripple is selling the technology to utilize them. Currently XRP and its ledger system operate independently from Ripple, and can scale to demand, using tiny fees taken from each transaction. As far as growth, XRP does tend to lag, however, last time Bitcoin was $6k, XRP was $0.20. Now Bitcoin is $6k, and XRP is $0.45. I'll take 100% growth any day. And with some nudging from the Ripple Company, I think XRP is most likely to increase in value, and stay increased, where something else more popular may get pumped faster, then quickly dumped. That happened to XRP already, so I like to think it "got it out of it's system."
To digress a moment on the security/currency/natural resource thing, imagine XRP as a lump of iron. Now imagine you're in the bronze age. Ripple found and mined the iron, and had a lot of it. It was found to be valuable, so Ripple had to carefully manage how it interacts with the Iron supply. Now the lumps are being released by an escrow, so Ripple doesn't control such a large suppy any more. (Ripple is also decentralizing their control of the XRP ledger, with more 3rd party nodes coming online.) So, these lumps of iron are sitting there, and Ripple had an idea. Rather than use horses to carry sacks of gold, they could build a rail system out of the iron. Ripple would control the rail system. The iron could be made into mine carts. So, Ripple doesn't control the carts, just the rails, and so doesn't have to have the carts regulated as portions of the company. Kingdoms can easily transfer their gold to other kingdoms on the rails in the carts that they own. Buy the iron, and you can move value with it. That inherently gives value to the iron, since there is a finite supply. The cool thing is though, what else can iron be used for besides carts? I don't know, but someone like Jeff Bezos might.
Historical Comparison
Jeff Bezos came up with a book sales program. He focused it, got really good at it, and customers loved it. It became super popular, then it branched out and is involved in nearly everything. Anyone who invested in early Amazon is extremely wealthy.
Ripple the Company is getting really good at one thing, global payments. And they may be decentralizing, but Ripple can still nudge XRPs future. In the future, Ripple will certainly find other uses for their programs and for the global XRP supply. For example, imagine if it became the standard Xbox Live or PS4 Online token. Good golly miss molly, everyone and their grandmother would be trying to buy them.
So, with so many unknowns, XRP is unpopular now, and thus cheap. But IF it is ruled not a security, and IF it is used in global remittance markets, and IF the Ripple developers don't get stolen away by other blockchain teams, and IF another coin doesn't come out and do XRPs job better... then this might be a very dirty, balled up, golden ticket. We shall see. If you have questions, please comment, and I will try to better explain what I have found in my research.
Recap
So, being young and able to stomach some epic risks, (really, does the stock market count as risky if everyone intends to be able to have a 4% SWR after inflation?) I am going to put all my eggs in one basket. My life savings in XRP. At least til Im 30. If the gamble fails, I work 8 years as a frugal physician and FIRE before Im 40. If XRP (and a few Eth for good luck) go crazy, I may FIRE before 30. That extra 10 years is, like Tom Hanks says in Joe vs The Volcano, "gold in my hand."
Since there are a lot of ways to get to FIRE, please let me know if anyone else is trying the "eggs in one basket, concentrate wealth to grow" strategy. Or if you took a similarly huge risk that worked out, what is your story?
***I would love to answer any questions, but please also do your own research, and only invest what you can afford to lose. We have income, so we can afford to lose a good chunk of our life savings. We watched our parents survive that in 2009.

Credit Card > BTC Payment Options For A Store

Sup /Bitcoin, I'm looking for a solution for a client of mine who runs an eCommerce store.
Basically what I'm looking to do is setup a Credit Card Payment Option on their site, where the customer pays via Credit Card, and the Store Owner is funded via BTC. Is there an existing solution for this?
Journey:
  1. Customer adds item to cart
  2. Customer checks out using "Credit Card" option
  3. Customer makes payment in USD / AUD / EUR using their credit card
  4. The payment in USD / AUD / EUR is automatically converted to BTC and added to my client's wallet

Easier said than done, the closest I've found was Lamium / CoinNexus, but their payment is via remittance at the moment and I'm unsure if it's in their roadmap. Any advice is appreciated!

SOMN is severely undervalued and has potential for huge returns, here's why.

Hello all!
I'm really excited about this project and this coin. I believe there are some very important factors that make this coin stand out to me as an undervalued option with a lot of room to grow. Since Golem (GNT) is SOMN’s main competitor I am going to focus mainly on their growth and capital gains as a sort of benchmark for what SOMN can attain. SOMN is focused on making a product first and then marketing and they have a solid highly experienced team behind it. The time to look into the currency is now and not after it explodes, and here is why:

Link to their site: https://sonm.io/

1. Current Market Capital
As of writing (Dec, 11, 2017) this crypto has a market cap of 61 million. For comparison, Golem (GNT) their main competitor, has a market cap of 260 million. Why is this important? It shows there is a lot of potential interest (nearly 5x) in this space already.
2. Medium Supply Amount
The circulating supply of SOMN is currently 359.6 million, just under half of Golem’s circulating supply. The total supply for both coins mirror this as well, with SOMN at 444 million total, to Golem’s 1 billion. Why is this important? Less coins in circulation means higher value per coin. In the event that SOMN simply reaches Golem’s market cap of 260 million, the value per SOMN coin would equal 73 cents (17 (current value) x 4.3). If SOMN breaks 1 billion in market cap the coin would be valued at about $2.56 from the current 17c value. Now, with all the hype surrounding Bitcoin, you may think $2.62 isnt that much, but remember, in the event that SOMN breaks 1 billion, that would be a 1639% return. Furthermore, for Bitcoin to break that same amount of returns it would need be valued at $272,000 per coin (16,612 x 16.39) and have a market cap of 4.5 Trillion USD. Which is more likely? Bitcoin breaks $4.5 Trillion, or SOMN reaches $1 Billon?
Caveat: SOMN and BTC serve two different functions in the Cryptocurrency space. BTC is a store of value, SOMN is a decentralized super-computer network that harnesses user’s computer power. SOMN will never be valued in the trillions, but it doesn’t need to be, the whole point of this post is the massive current undervalue of this coin and room for profit. If you’re fine going long on a coin that isn’t really that useful and has its value derived solely by hype then by all means, go long on Bitcoin; just be aware of the tremendous risk you are putting yourself at and the fact that you’re already late to the party.
3. Sleek website
This one may seem minor, but at this time having a sleek and well-designed website is important. As they say, first impressions matter. In this case, it shows competency in a team and professionalism in a project. Like many of you here, I have visited a lot of crypto sites, and SOMN’s website is among my favorites. Sleek, clean, and professional, I like it.
4. Strong team
The team is experienced. One of my biggest fears when investing in a coin is that I am throwing money into a group or project without any experience backing it up. SOMN’s team is composed of several very experienced members in the Ethereum, blockchain, and Cloud spaces, as well as having advisors from LISK (Max Kordek), DecentraNet (Simone Giacomelli), Coinsetter (Jaron Lukasiewicz), and other projects. (There are links at the bottom that reference the team members.)
5. Large market
Golem is SOMNs main competitor, as mentioned earlier they have over 4x the market cap of SOMN circulating in their coins. There is already four-times the interest in this specific crypto space and neither Golem, nor (especially) SOMN, have “moonshot” yet, so who knows where the ceiling is. Furthermore, both projects aim to provide their respective decentralized computational power towards a variety of projects; from rendering CGI/video, mining, scientific projects, neural networks, and any other scenario where massive computational power can be applied. The market that SOMN is targeting is estimated to have a volume of over $300 billion by 2020 and will only grow from there.
6. Competitor is already expensive (already valued at nearly $300 million)
This point is more of an opinion, I have no issue with Golem, but I think there are a few valid arguments that can be made at this time. Golem is, as mentioned earlier, much more expensive to buy into, thus the profit margin is significantly lower. If you’re invested into these projects to make money that point should speak for itself. Additionally (and this is somewhat minor), Golem’s website looks amateurish and outdated. If new users were to look at both sites which would leave a better first impression? https://golem.network/index.html or https://sonm.io/
TL;DR: SOMN provides a very lucrative and potential huge return on investment (over 1600% if it reaches 1 billion market cap. The vast majority of people investing in the cryptocurrency are doing it to get rich. If that is your objective then you need to be ahead of the curve. Buying into a coin after it already moonshot is not the answer, you need to beat the hype (and do your homework!) There are a lot of scam coins out there, projects with limited usage, or very high circulating coin supply. SOMN stands out to me strong option that is undervalued in the super-computer space and larger Cryptocurrency space. Buying into it now is ideal because there efforts are focused on producing a product instead of marketing as opposed to a lot of other coins where they are putting the cart before the horse.

I ain't talkin' over much; ain't no need ter air my lore. Eyes a burning' where they be; ears a bustin' with a roar; mouth thet's like a shingle-mill; dry's the handle of a pump; back that's broke square in two bout four inches 'bove the rump! So I ain't so long on talk. Got no answer fer the doc! Doc don't seem ter mind me none; sets around a little bit; pulls a little dictaphone; lays it on my kroop- er-bone; makes me breathe and holler "A-a-ah"; breathe an' intake; breathe an' groan through the little dictaphone. Sez he after quite a spell. "Them Bolsheveeks is raisin' hell! D'ye think ol' Wilson's doin' well?" Take my tempertoor agen; thumps me on the abdo- men. "Think it's goin' ter snow agen?" But I don't want no casual chat. I don't call no doc, fer that. Got no call for Bolsheveeks, fer at least a couple er weeks! Don't keer ef it snows an' snows ef I could only blow my nose! I want facks! Right off'n the bat! I don't want no social chat! Ef I'm wusn't what I wus, what's the reason; what's the cause? What's the status of he case; tell te facks right to my face; lemme know the wust and best; is my innards all congessed; are there bones loose in my pate; is my backbone dislocate; ef I ain't got no tempertoor an' no disease fer sure, what in time's ther howdydoo ef 'taint the pip and 'tain't the flu? Doc he sets around a bit. "Man!" says he, "you're lookin' fit! Have you fightin' Dempsey yit." Then I looks Doc in the eye: "Tie the bull outside," says I. "Doc, I bleeve I'm goin' ter die. I'm dead now above my chin! Eyes and nose and ears and all! Ain't breathed reglar fer a week! Jints all movin' with a squeak. Every time I move my jaw, feel's ez though I'd broke the law. Doc," says I, "it's up ter you! Ef t'aint the pip and 'tain't the flu how yer goin' ter pull me through?" Doc he sets an' thinks erwhile; then he answers with a smile, "Ain't you the chap wrote a talk, couldn't eat and couldn't walk, waited fer the birds to sing, an' the comin' of the spring; wanted to loaf by a larfin stream, set an' fish an' fish an' dream, nuthin' but bees an' bugs an' things, thet live right where the wild stream sings. Maybe that ain't jest carreck, but sumthin' at least to that effeck." An' the doc he opens a bag he lugs. "What you need," sez he, "is a dose of bugs." An' sure enough I'm gettin' well; ain't felt so peart for quite a spell. Wuz over a billion bugs, they say, in the shot doc gimme the other day. Reely feel I'm comin' to; 'tain't the pip an' 'tain't the flu; but jest er case when all I need is sumthin' off'n the flowery mead, an' when you can't inject the Spring nor a dose of blue- bird on the wing, nor brooks that run, ner vi'lets blue ter cure the pip er cure the flu, why! the next best thing the doctor lugs is a shot of erbout a billion bugs. An' as they sort o' crawl eround, I can somehow feel I'm on the ground, with all the rest that my fancy hugs, the birds an' bees an' the billion bugs.
