Mining farm, purchase miner, bitcoin mining and mining ...

Imagine if all the money miners spend on buying new ASIC rigs would go directly into the purchase of bitcoins. Imagine also if all the cost associated with operating mining farms would be virtually eliminated and therefore greatly reducing amount of bitcoins miners have sell to keep operating.

That is effectively one of the things ETH 2.0 is bringing to the table. It will also result in lower issuance, a rapid increase in network scaling. This is a very exciting development for cryptocurrencies as a whole, and if the implementation is successful there are a lot of reasons to believe it will catapult Ether's price.
If you are a maximalist (on either side of the fence), please consider hedging your investment. It is a responsible approach specially when dealing with a highly speculative and volatile asset class. Cheers!

Serious Question...

I'm kind of sick and tired of all of the uncertainty and scams going around.....I've played around with a bit of money and sadly, very few of my gambles have paid off so far. So I've been thinking....
There's an empty warehouse available near where I live. I live in a place where it's sunny just about every day....so I'd like to invest in that warehouse, outfit it with a solar roof, and purchase a large mining rig. Bitmain had a purchase order of 1,000 Antminer S9s that was literally just cancelled so I know that they will have these available (as mentioned here: https://www.coindesk.com/former-iced-tea-maker-cancels-purchase-bitcoin-mining-rigs/)
I'd like your honest opinion....if I were to create a kickstarter campaign to create a completely transparent cloud mining company, complete with video updates, pictures, show my face and hire the right people, and include a live 24 hour stream of the facility....would you guys invest if the incentive was right? These would obviously be tiered incentives (the more you contribute the better the incentive would be)...please give me your honest thoughts/opinions.

Uncle Passed ~4 years ago and just found out he was big into bitcoin/mining

I've tried googling to figure this out but I'm not tech savvy enough to understand/grasp it, so not sure if this is even possible, here is my situation:
My uncle passed in 2016 after a very short battle with an aggressive brain cancetumor etc. The last year of his life was plagued with memory issues but he did talk a bit about bitcoin/mining etc, however in my head he was doing some type of folding at home to help cure diseases etc.
Two weeks ago my aunt sold her house and began the moving process, upon showing up to help and clear out her basement I came across a varitable treasure trove of old PC parts. I'd say its hoarding, however it is all in immaculate shape and stored. Along with notebooks and some other information, we found the following:
6 desktop computers with large cases and lots of extra hardware inside, after talking to a friend they believe these may all be mining rigs. In the basement we uncovered 6 boxes of HDDs and graphics cards, however all of the HDD's seem to be 2-4TB and may or may not be dead drives?
I purchased an external HDD reader to see if there was any family pictures etc, on there. It's mostly family pictures and videos he'd saved or converted, however because of the news around bitcoin, and the amount of hardware, I wonder if there is a wallet / bitcoin whatever floating around somewhere in one of these drives. Is there an easy way to locate if there is anything of value here?
Sorry for length, wanted to include as much as possible for best results. Can answer any other info.

ATM we have: 6 PCs with a ton of stuff crammed in them, stacks of HDDs, stacks of graphics cards and a buncha notebooks littered with numbers that are confusing. I don't think these #'s etc are bitchain/codes, but have now way to verify.

Trying to decide weather or not to get a Z11, S19 or S9. Opinions wanted.

Edit I ment type Z11 S17 or A9 (freaking autocorrect)
I'm looking to buy a profitable ASIC with a $2000 budget. And I'm looking for you reddits knowledge and experience to make sure I'm going down the right path.
So far I'm leaning on purchasing a Antminer Z11. The price is reasonable and the profitability looks good.
Another choice is the infosillicon A9. They are probably the cheapest miner that turns a profit, and the low wattage consumption is attractive so I don't have to upscale my electrical right away. If I chose the A9 I would buy 2 or more.
Third choice is the s17. It's more expensive and less profitable but it mines bitcoin. And I wonder if there's any unforeseen advantage of mining bitcoin should it moon shot.
GPU's I have a GPU rig running right now, and I plan on adding to it, but really want to dive deeper into ASIC mining right now.
Thoughts?

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO BECOME INVOLVED IN CRYPTOS AND TELOS

My partner and I became excited with cryptos at the beginning of 2017 when I was searching for a better investment than the equity markets were providing for us. I was disillusioned by the fact that the equity markets are similar to Central banks and the Federal Reserve in that they are able to endlessly print new share certificates every time they need more financing which in turn erodes the share value. Both systems are corrupt.
We discovered Bitcoin and Ethereum and invested in Ethereum because it was cheaper at that time (Bitcoin was at $1,080. Ethereum was at $11) and we could buy more. I also purchased some GPU mining rigs and started mining Ethereum which I continue to do to this day. 2017 was a fantastic year for cryptos and Ethereum which topped at $1,450. We bought and sold a bunch of different cryptos throughout 2017 but made a huge mistake by not selling at the top in early January 2018. ☹
In 2018 we discovered EOS and switched our holdings. We believed that EOS was going to be THE ONE until we saw the problems with its Governance. We hung in there for another year and I tried my best to inspire the community to come together and solve these issues but with no success. We looked into sister-chains of EOS to see if any of them were operating the way they should and discovered TELOS. We were immediately excited with what TELOS had accomplished in solving the problems EOS was faced with. A huge thank you to Douglas Horn and the 130 community members that came together to develop TELOS. Fast forward another year and here we are today.
My journey, has been a life changing experience. It has come with its ups and downs and a very steep learning curve which has been extremely painful at times. I have had scammers scam me and tokens stolen from me, but all in all, it has been the ride of my life that continues to fuel, excite and inspire me. My only regret is that I didn’t discover Bitcoin sooner. Damn it.

Top Proof Of Stake Networks and Staking Coin List

Proof of stake consensus algorithm was launched as an alternative to the proof of work algorithm and since its discovery in 2012, it has been used by a number of crypto platforms seeking to become more scalable than the Bitcoin network. With one of the main objectives of the proof of work model, allowing for a decentralized network to confirm transaction instead of a third party, the proof of stake model achieves this in a different manner. Before we dive into some of the top proof of stake cryptocurrency networks right now, it is best that we get an idea of what proof of stake is.
What Is Proof Of Stake?
Proof of Stake otherwise referred to as PoS is a consensus algorithm that makes use of the coin staking format. To explain better, for users on the network to be able to mine, they need to be able to stake a certain amount of coin on the network if they are to start mining. In addition to staking a certain amount, these individuals will only mine the total amount of coins that have been staked on the network. This simply means that if a manages to stake or lock up a huge amount of coins, let’s say about 10% of the total coins on the network, they will be able to validate about 10% of the total transactions that are carried out on the network. So if a network processes about 10,000 transactions each day, these miners will validate and receive rewards for validating 10% of the total blocks. Aside from the rewards they stand to gain, these miners are also paid transaction fees of users on the network each time they validate a transaction.
There are a couple of benefits that come from making use of PoS based blockchain networks and they include;
  1. They are less expensive; unlike the PoW mechanism that requires users to invest their hard-earned funds in the purchase of expensive hardware or mining rigs, these PoS networks do not require you to pay for mining rigs. All you have to do is buy or own a certain amount of coin on the network and you can begin validating transactions and earning rewards.
  2. It is eco-friendly; unlike PoW based networks, PoS networks offer users guaranteed returns. The value of these PoS based coins does not fall like the PoW based coins unless there is a slight change in the market.
  3. On this network, stakers can decide to delegate their responsibilities to third-party agents to help them carry out.
Top Proof Of Stake Networks And Staking Coins
1. Dash (DASH)
Otherwise referred to as “Digital Cash”, DASH happens to be one of the very advanced crypto networks to adopt the PoS algorithm. DASH simply acts like liquid cash or P2P platform that is used to make payments for goods and services that are purchased daily. Currently, in most countries, DASH has been integrated as a means of payment for goods and services bought daily. In the last couple of years, DASH has implemented the InstantSend and PrivateSend features which will facilitate a fast and secure transaction for all on the network. Holders of the DASH coin can run master nodes on the network or receive rewards in DASH coins.
On the DASH network, users will have to stake about 1000 DASH coins when the price of one (1) DASH is equal to $300. While this network was built on Bitcoin’s main core it happens to focus on the privacy and quick transfer of funds aspect.
Early adopters of DASH that have a large number of DASH coins in their possession will do well to become master nodes on the network. Individuals with about $300,000 worth of DASH coins will make approximately 7.5% annual profit from becoming master nodes on the network. Those seeking to stake DASH coins will do well to ensure that they have the DASH staking wallets in their possession.
2. NEO (NEO)
Previously referred to as Antshares, NEO happens to be the first Chinese open-source blockchain project in existence. The developers of this network have referred to it as the distributed network for the smart economy. Being a PoS powered network, users on the NEO blockchain can stake their coins if they want to become miners on the network. Aside from the fact that there is a crypto platform, NEO has a token which is referred to as GAS which can be staked on any of the NEO staking wallets available. Unlike some of the other PoS based crypto networks, NEO does not require users to keep their staking wallets open.
Stakers on the NEO network can expect a 4.5% annual profit when they stake on this network. There are a couple of benefits that are associated with making use of this PoS based network and they include; it is a smart network that affords you the opportunity to send and receive coins in less than no time. The certificates, as well as the identities, are digital. Also, there is a wide range of decentralized applications (DApps).
3. Vechain (VET)
This happens to be another top PoS based network and since its launch has been able to gather attention from members of the crypto community. This network has been said to be similar to the NEO network and it offers users the opportunity to carry out fast transactions at a reduced cost. Unlike some of the other PoS based networks, Vechain focus primarily on the supply chain industry. It has allied with the Amazon web service and Walmart China. When you stake VET on the Vechain network, you are given VTHO for staking VET coins on the network. It is used in transactions and it has a return of investment of about 2% or more. Users on the network get extra with the nodes and it is easy to make use of.
One of the main benefits of this network is that it is incredibly easy to make use of and it has a long-range of partnerships. In addition to this, it has a fair ROI rate as well as other amazing bonuses that users will have to enjoy as well.

RX5700 GPU mining rig vs ASIC miner A10 for Ethereum mining !?

RX5700 GPU mining rig vs ASIC miner A10 for Ethereum mining !?
https://preview.redd.it/9txedwr1wy251.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e91116819600b605ffca6ce830fdd582d3965466
I want to clear out the air about Ethereum mining. The GPU mining vs Asic mining, is Ethereum now Asic mining Algorithm. Can RX5700 most efficient Graphic cards for ETH mining Compete with Asic miner A10.
For the last day i have been working on some stats and ROI for 2 types of investment for 12xGPU RX5700 MineBox 12 mining rig and Innosilicon A10 ETH ASIC miner. My goal was to let the data speak about it self and then make a decision what is better investment for ethereum mining GPU or ASIC. Im compering 2 most efficient miners :
  1. ASIC miner Innosilicon A10 , costs 3000usd(specs. 500mh/s at 860w)
  2. GPU miner MineBox12 , cost 4487euro ( specs 700mh/s at 1800w)
Miner price is about the average would it cost to you 12xGPU mining rig might cost you 100-300 cheaper if you would build one yourself. Innosilicon A10 would cost you lot more if you would like to import it out of China. Price would be closer to 3500euro + you would need to buy power-supply for it.
I have created google spreadsheet and inserted the GPU data and performance by the current currencies price and mining profitability. Included also my thoughts about advantages and disadvantages using GPU or Asic miner:

https://preview.redd.it/mojtvv7yvy251.jpg?width=1234&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f3384599287ea15a4b6f92ffb973a4019330bdca
Opinion based on mining profit data. We can see that MineBox 12 ROI if electric price is free or very cheap is faster then ASIC miner A10. And even at 0.10c a kw/h at current Ethereum price there is only 80day difference on Equipment payback time. But the biggest thing is for example when your miners are paid back your investment. You still are available to resell your MineBox 12 hardware for other use case or just mine different coins. Where with Innosilicon A10 you can throw it into bin as soon as ETHASH coins are not profitable to mine. This is the biggest downside of Asic miners. So to answer your question is ETH asic mining coin. My answer would be Yes ASIC miners are slightly more profitable , BUT they are not worth the risk you are getting by buying one. Also you can see clearly that GPU miners has lot more advantages then Asic miners. The difference on ETH miners are not so noticeable then like it was Bitcoin GPU vs ASIC mining. There is still profit to be made with GPUs mining ETH. If ETH switches to new POW ProgPOW , again another benefit for GPU rigs as the same GPUs are quite efficient mining ProgPow. Buying and Asic miner there is to much risk, saying from experience. Have lost a lot of money, my last adventure bought 5xAntminer S17 back in November and 4 of them hashing boards stopped working after 1st week. Not counting the previous purchases Antminer D3 etc..
Let me guys know what you think about this, would your rather use ASIC miner for mining ETH of GPU miner?

Need Help Regarding Nice Hash and Making Payments Via Bitcoin

I recently started Mining on my gaming rig and saved up some bitcoin. A website called bitrefill is selling giftcards for bitcoin so I thought about buying a giftcard for Amazon to make my purchase. I have been using Nice Hash in order to mine and store my Bitcoin. I am confused on how to make a purchase because there is no "send" option only withdrawal. So my question is when I visit the checkout page and it tells me to send a certain amount of BTC to an Address do I use the "withdrawal feature". I really don't want to link a coinbase because I don't like to give companies any of my social security number. If I can do this through Nice Hash that would be great and if not can you guys tell me how to transfer to an anonymous wallet and make payment from there. Sorry if this is a stupid question but I've only been Mining for a short while and this is my first purchase. The order page is the above image.

Round up of Cryptocurrency News #7 Week 17/08 - 23/08

Heya everyone! Its been a little while, I'm still trying to get back into the groove of writing. Sorry about post#6, there will be a catch-up posted soon.

So... onto News recap #7! What have seen happen? First of all we have seen a pump from a bunch of altcoins: OMG, Cosmos, IOTA, NEO, THETA, ARAGON, SiaCoin, Golem, Swipe. As Ethereum fees remain high Omisego pumped over 130% in one day. It has now pulled back, watch the volume for further movement. Something interesting to me is a lot of these are projects from 2017.

Link appears to have broken its bullish market structure, dumping 23% in 48 hours. Be careful. IOTA is pushing its boundaries as its chrysalis mainnet goes live inching closer to complete decentralisation! https://cryptopotato.com/iotas-chrysalis-goes-live-on-mainnet/

Ethereum 2.0 upgrade is harder than first appeared, Vitalik says it will take much longer as they have a governance issue for the new blockchain.

Bitcoin and Ethereum have had slight adjustments in price potentially tightening up for another move (Hold above $11700 please!) Fingers crossed it is in the upward direction. They are currently in the red over the past few days however don't let that fool you as they are both up over 20% over the last 30 days. Also there was much excitement as Bitcoin rallied over 12K but was quickly beaten down back under. We can now be clear this is a resistance level and possibly a soon to be support level as the price has been steadily pushing back upwards toward 12k. In spite of this most crypto influencers are bearish and expecting a pull back.

News for the week: More awareness of cryptocurrency and purchasing by institutional traders, but do they have the iron hands to play the crypto market? We will have to wait and see, as for Dave Portnoy (who cares), he entered and left within a week. Blames Chainlink and Orchid as Chainlink dumps 20% on him in a day. "Ive bought the top many times" Portnoy doesn't understand the principles of the market as he also appears to think pump and dumps are encouraged within the cryptosphere. I'd keep an eye on him if he tries to push a cryptocurrency onto anyone.

Outside of the meme news, "Bitcoins perception is changing over time, its image as a money-laundering vehicle has subsided, with investors now taking a much keener interest in it. News story counts of potential money laundering were much more prevalent in 2013-14 but have since subsided, while counts of Bitcoin as an investment have become more of a focus."

Bitcoin's hashrate reaches record high of 130 exahash per second (EH/s). This is especially important after bitcoins halving, as miners have had to switch off and upgrade from old inefficient mining rigs, because when miners commit more computing power to process BTC transactions it helps to strengthen the network and secure it against 51% attacks!

Warren Buffet changes his mind on Gold, will Bitcoin be next on his mind? Buffetts company reveals it has dumped bank stocks (such as JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs) and taken a position in a gold miner. This could also be a cheeky indicator something is a bit fishy within the current US financial system and Buffett is looking to retain his wealth for rockier times to come.

Thanks for reading, this week it is very Bitcoin heavy as I am thinking a move is on the way for the top performing cryptocurrencies. Below I would recommend reading the important links and CBDC links. It shouldnt be more than 30 mins, and most of them you can skim through :)
